My Fanfic, newest to oldest:
Pretend Living
Rating: Let's see here, no sex, no death, there is bad language...can I squeak by with a PG-13? Maybe R if bad language bothers you that much.
Summary: Scully seemed crabbier than usual in Arcadia, didn't she?
Classification: I'm creating a new category: Pre-Ep! (I am the creator! I am Chris Carter:), Scully angst. But done in a humorous way (I hope). There is UST...kind of. I think on both sides, but it's left to your interpretation of it. Different people have read it differently which I think is cool. Storyish. Scully POV which I seem to do a lot of for some reason. Weird!

Classification: A teensy bit if angst, a whole buncha MSR, storyish (7 printed pages)

Hmmmm. Hum de dum de dum. I'm just trying to remember why I never posted these originally. I can't remember. In fact, I thought they were all posted, so I came here looking for The Weight of Two, which I was always proud of, and amazed with myself that I nailed what their son would look like (and that they'd have a son) and couldn't find it here. I searched in My Documents, and imagine my amazement when I found, not just that one, but TEN fanfics, all written and ready to post. Well, here they are finally. They're in episode order, because I can't remember now what order I wrote them in. By the way, I would love to say I posted them untouched, but I'll admit to a wee bit of polishing and proofreading. Nothing too major though.

(One if by Land & What the Future Holds are both Closure post-eps, but they are not related, and, in fact, are quite diferent in tone.)
What the Future Holds
Rating: G
Summary: A short post-ep for Closure, where I try to give a little *more* closure
Classification: Post-ep, Mulder POV, possible mild UST...but then again, possibly not
~~by BonnieGayle

Classification: Post-ep, Mulder POV, Angst, UST

(The Seeker & The Weight of Two are both Requiem post-eps. They are not meant to be related, but they each follow the episode from one character's perspective, so you could say that they mirror each other in a way, if you wanted to.)
The Weight of Two

Fan Fiction Recommendations:
I was amazed when I found fan fic on the web. If you have ever wanted more from the show, if you've ever wanted an excuse to read smut, if you've ever wanted to continue on with an episode, or flesh-out a missing scene, if you have ever wanted to read MIND BLOWING stories, with characters that you are comfortable with--fan fiction is for you. These are the best that I've read, and when you read something that makes you go 'wow' or cry or laugh, you want to share. So here they are.
Please, if you like the story, feedback is just the most amazing thing for a writer! BTW, my comments are in the parenthesis.
*NEW NOTE* These are all linked to other sites, so to get back here, you have to hit the BACK button on your browser.Click on the person's name to go to their website. I was amazed how many sites are gone now, so if their link doesn't work (and it most likely won't), go to this website: The Gossamer Project. They have, if not all of these, most of them, readily accessible by searching (by author--last name first--or title) and about 10 bigillion more.
*New Note the Second* Well, I decided that if my cds, dvds, and spice rack are in alphabetical order, this list should be as well (I'm a Virgo, and that's about the only way I'm as Type A as the 'stars' say I should be). As part of that house cleaning, I added a few new favorites, one of my own disappeared (I always felt it was tremendously bad), and one disappeared from my favorites list (just not feeling it this time around). I also separated the list into 3 sections: My Top 16 (random #, I know, but whatever), The Rest of the Best, and The Missing. If you know where to find any in the last category, I would love it if you would drop me a line. All the others should either be findable at their page, or on gossamer.
My Top 16
(in addition to these, I'm also a sucker for any post-colonization story I happen upon, but it would have turned into my top 500 really easily--2012, here we come--fingers crossed :)
Five Years and One Night
Rating: NC17, Adult content and language
Summary: (Scully leaves the X-Files but Mulder comes and gets her and takes her to Singapore. What for? You'll just have to read it to find out! This is LONG but very, very good. Major angst warning.)
Classification: Story, MSR
~~by Shalimar
Absence of a Heartbeat
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Scully's struggle to save an important life. (I seem to like Scully in Doctor-mode and this has it in spades! It's a really feasible subject and stays close to the show's format.)
Classification: UST, S, A
~~by Katyblue (e-mail)
Across a Crowded Room
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Regret, remembrance and sushi. (Yes, it has all that...but it also has something else too;) I can almost guarantee that you will read this a second time)
Classification: VRA
~~by DashaK
After the Rain
Rating: PG
Summary: Only after the rain can you live again...(Very, very good! The ending actually surprised me!)
Classification: Short Story, MSR
~~by Imajiru
All the Mulder's
Rating: PG-13 for language and sexual situations.
Summary: In the alien-controlled post-Project future, the bond between Scully and Mulder evolves into a strange and bittersweet romance. (This one is really amazing and bittersweet and it sticks with you...what more could you want? )
Classification: V, A, H, MsSR(you'll understand after you've read it)
~~by Alloway
Duplicity
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Mulder discovers the unimaginable. Scully's deepest secret revealed. A secret past, a hidden agenda. Believe everything...except your eyes. (And yet I still wanted them to be together...odd! I would love to talk about this, but I don't want to give anything more away. Excellent story. This is one that sticks with you, and you are thrilled that the show didn't end up this way!)
Classification: MSR, A, Scully POV
~~by Dawson Rambo (you have to go here, he's just amazing and has a zillion stories)
Fate, Chance, Kings & Desperate Men
Rating: PG13
Summary: Our heroes have found their way back to civilization (of a sort). Now, they just need to figure out the way home from there. (Some of the movie fan fiction out there was just perfectly done. This is one of them. I'm in love with the quote by John Dunne, as well.)
Classification: Story, Romance, Angst, Mulder POV, Mulder/Scully UST, Flick Fic (it would be shorter to just say EVERYTHING:>)
~~by Karen Rasch
Friends Even In Childhood I II & III
Rating: G
Summary: Mulder and Scully share a very special relationship. We all know that. It's the kind of relationship I think, would come from years and years of friendship. Not just four or five, so this is my way writing what it would've been like if they'd met each other as teens. This is an alternate universe kind of thing. Give it a chance. Please. (This was one of the first I ever read, and still holds a soft spot for me)
Classification: A little angst, mostly friendship bonding
~~by Penny Daza
I Have Know A Boy Named Fox, and a Man Named Mulder
Rating: R for language and adult situations
Summary: Mulder becomes Fox. It's a journey that he and Scully could not have ever prepared for. (Again, another of my firsts, and another soft spot being held--is that saying in reference to a newborn baby's head??)
Classification: Romance, angst
~~by Penny Daza
I Have Seen...
Rating: R
Summary: What happened in Antarctica, and afterwards. (Beautifully written: touching and tender. Another perfectly done movie fic.)
Classification: MSR, Movie Fic...1st movie:)
In the Night Season
Rating: NC-17
Summary: (Top 3. This is so beautifully written. Almost lyrically. And, on top of that, it has a great Scully, great angst, great shippyness...I really love this one! BTW, check out the disclaimer :o)
Classification: A, S, R
~~by Revely
Practice
Rating: PG-13 (for language)
Summary: Scully decides she needs practice before she can tell Mulder something important. (This is funny and 'shippy and cute)
Classification: RHV
~~by Alelou
Strangers and the Strange Dead
Rating: PG?
Summary: Dead bodies and shivering strangers disturb the hilltown of Bradenton. (This one takes a couple read-throughs;) In fact, I liked it better this time around. A lot better.)
Classification:AS
~~by Kipler
Taking Flight
Rating: PG-13
Summary: During the events of Biogenesis, Scully is compelled to take a dramatic step to ensure that her partner knows how she feels about him. (I wanted this from Biogenesis and didn't get it because personally, I didn't like the Scully in that 3-parter. So this fills the void quite nicely and makes me feel a lot better about Scully. In fact, there is a particular scene in this story between the two of them that is so...right, in my mind, that I remembered that it had actually happened on the show, and was surprised when I rewatched the episode, that it never did. That's the power of fanfiction.)
Classification: S,A,UST/R
~~by KatyBlue
Thunder
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Walk a mile in Mulder's shoes. (You're actually in Mulder's head in this one. It's very smutty and angsty, and there's a puppy:)
Classification: SAR
~~by Rachel Anton
Worth Breaking
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Mulder and Scully embark on a relationship neither is able to handle, and the question of what is or isn't worth breaking must be answered. (This is in my top 3. I love this. It has the best smut, the best angst, and a plot line I love: Mulder and Scully love each other but won't admit it. Well, duh;) It gets better, and better, and better, and then it's over, and you're sad. It should keep going forever!)
Classification: SRHA
~~by Narida Law (all around wonderful stories)
*looking back, I seem to be especially fond of smut, angst, and twisty plots. hmm*
The Rest of the Best
1st off, 4 links:
A Scintilla Of Truth
(I couldn't just put one or two so I put the whole site! Everything by this author is just amazing. I suggest reading them all. Don't miss the disclaimers-hilarious!)
The Truth Distorted
(Have you ever wanted to cross over and take a visit to the dark side...just to see what was going on over there of course;) Well here is the site that deals not in sunshine and flowers, but in the Consortium, and Post-Colonization stories. Fear not my friends-you can always cross back to sunshine and flowers if things get too scary for you.)
Virtual Season 15I was absolutely dumbfounded when I ran across this. They say, take everything after Je Souhaite, the one before Mulder was abducted, and say it never happened. What if things had continued on the way they were going? So they wrote their own virtual seasons 8-15 of case files. Yes, they're still going. Complete with myth arc episodes, season finales, and the whole shebang. Part of me likens them to the people they say are still hiding out in their fox holes, and don't know that the Vietnam war is over, but a bigger part of me admires their chutzpah.
Mark of X-cellence
Looking for more fanfiction? Want to make sure that what you're reading is good enough to be worth the effort? This lists all the award winners, namely the Spookies and Starbucks. The links to the actual stories don't work, but you can then find them at Gossamer.
Now the stories:
One One-Thousand
Rating: R (language and violence)
Summary: Waiting for the last ball to drop. (There's so much in this. It's a really great post colonization story.)
Classification: X,A,Post-Colonization,Mulder POV
~~by nevdull
10 Reasons & Starry Night
Rating: NC-17
Summary: On a late night flight home, Scully tries to convince herself that a platonic relationship is just fine, but Mulder has other ideas. AND Mulder makes good on a promise. (The stories stay completely in character. Even the NC-17 sections are in character...if that's possible:)
Classification: UST/MSR,S
~~by Blackwood
12 Tales of Christmas (5 parts)
Rating: R/PG
Summary: Following How the Ghosts Stole Christmas (A nice sweet evolving romance)
Classification: VR
~~by Anne Haynes
Sixty
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Mulder at Scully's hospital bed. (This had me crying, a HARD thing to do! This is after Redux, pretend Redux II didn't happen.)
Classification: Story, Romance, MAJOR Angst
~~by Dawson E. Rambo
Always Fear
Rating: PG
Summary: A unique POV of Scully's worst fear. NOTES: This may not stick with canon completely (does canon even stick with canon anymore?). The whole 'junk' DNA/alien DNA thing is a tad over my head, so please bear with me. (This is me now. hi! I loved the pov, and I loved the message. I always felt sad that we never got to see Scully as a mother of a baby she wasn't...afraid of, in a way. This story talks to that notion.)
Classification: V, A
~~by True
An Acceptable Level of Happiness
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Christmas is the most stressful time of the year. (So that tells you nothing! This happens after Mulder has been returned, and Scully has had her baby. I can't tell when it was written, maybe during the summer after Requiem? So there are differences in those 2 elements (Mulder's return, and their baby) from what actually ended up happening. Because of that, it's not to canon, or, really, the way Mulder and Scully turned out, but it rings with real life. In other words, the writer is obviously someone who has had children, and it's nice to see, in a real-to-life way, a possible incarnation of how Mulder and Scully could have turned out....Just read it!)
Classification: MSR, Holidayfic, Babyfic, Improv(?), humor, angst, sex
~~by Jenna Tooms
After Eight
Rating: NC-17 for sex.
Summary: Is it the magic of the Eight Ball, the Christmas spirit, or something that's been a long time in coming?
Classification: S, R, H
~~by Dasha K. and Plausible Deniability(both e-mail)
All I Want for Christmas
Rating: PG-13
Summary: A Magical Christmas Mystery. (Yes Scully, Santa Claus does exist...and he knows JUST what you want for Christmas. I like this one. mmmmm...almost made my top list. *I demand a recount!*)
Classification: SHR
~~by Gemma Kingsley(e-mail)
Alter Ego
Rating: PG
Summary: A freak accident sends Mulder and Scully into a strange realm where their lives have been made into a TV show, and they're played by two actors named David and Gillian....(Just so you don't think I'm a weirdo, this is not a 'Gillian and David love each other' story of any sort. It is Mulder and Scully the entire time. So, there. ;P )
Classification: X-File, Humor, Mulder/Scully UST
~~by Stacey Oziel
Bleeding His Blood
Rating: PG-13
Summary: When Mulder dies, Scully is left forever trying to do what he told her to in his last words. (This is really, really sad!)
Classification: Vignette, Angst
~~by Ellen Milholland
Blood Oranges
Rating: NC-17 (and take this seriously)
Summary: The latest victim in a series of brutal murders has a surprising connection to Mulder, but it's Scully who has the connection to the killer. Their relationship might not survive either one. (I liked this one as much as I didn't, but it's here, so....I liked the whodunit feel of it. I love mysteries, and this one kept me guessing. I don't like violence and this had it in spades. But, if that floats your boat, you'll love this;) See how you do with the 1st line.)
Classification: SRA, and W, for whodunnit
~~by Syntax6
Bounceback
Rating: PG
Summary: (6 years. I wanted to whack Mulder. 6 years!!! Oh geez. It's very good; It's another one of my very favorites.)
Classification: RV....
~~by XFBandit/Dawson Rambo
Burning Bright
Rating: NC-17 (not for the kiddies)
Summary: A character confesses: things aren't always as they seem, and sometimes memories lie. (This one...this one I read awhile ago and deleted it. But it just stuck in my mind. This one isn't happy or 'shippy or simple, but it is well written, and knowing--well, not really, of course--CC, I'm really glad it didn't end up being right)
Classification: V,Mulder POV
~~by Thyme
Chin Music
Rating: It's not NC-17, it actually could be R? I dunno? No rating is given:)
Summary: A trip to the Bermuda Triangle leads to unexpected revelations. (Okay, here's my opinion. MY opinion. I don't like 'they've already been sleeping together stories' as a vignette. I just don't. And although this is, I think it works just as well not as that. And if you do happen to like that, it's even better. It's post-Triangle. I've been meaning to write one of those guys:) They talk. Scully says more than "oh brother" (sounds good doesn't it:))
Classification: VR
~~by Anne Haynes(She has a pretty website)
Chopsticks
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Trust Mulder to gum up the works. And no, no Chinese take out here. (Why does Mulder work as a complete goofball?)

Classification: SRH
~~by Narida Law
A Dark Slide of Ecstasy
Rating: NC17, Contains strong adult content, violence, language, disturbing rape imagery and sex. (The rape is not by Mulder, however it is Scully who gets raped)
Summary: (There's none given, but if you can deal with the rape (it isn't described much) you should read this. It has stuck with me since I read it, and I have to admit, this is one of the very few fanfics that has made me cry.)
Classification: Angst, MSR
~~by Shalimar

Rating: PG
Summary: (A really sweet post Paper Hearts story featuring a...unique Mulder fetish:)

Classification: S, A, UST
~~by Barbra D.
Drink (Tequila) and Be Merry
Rating: PG-13 (for language)
Summary: Scully gets drunk. Plays confessional with the bartender. Mulder shows up. (This one's cute and has Scully getting drunk in a bar for once, and not Mulder!)
Classification: SR, post Flickfic
~~by Tissa
Drive, He Said
Rating: R
Summary: Where do you go when there's nowhere left? (This is another fantastic colonization story. It's not happy by any means, but it's very very good.)
Classification: V,A,R,Character Death,Scully POV,Post-Colonization
~~by Jennifer-Oksana
The Fire Eternal
Rating: PG
Summary: Mulder convinces Scully to try hypnotic regression to see if they've had a past life together. It turns out that Scully was a healer suspected of being a witch and Mulder was a witch hunter...(I like this version of past lives MUCH better than Field Where I Died: 'there's Scully...she's a guy...now she's dead.' (Grrr))
Classification: MSR, A
~~by Marisa Golini
Fortune's Fool
Rating: R (for language)
Summary: Scully goes to Mulder's apartment to apologize and finds him on the couch with the gun to his head...(It's post-Gesthemane, and it is hardcore doesn't-stop-'til-the-last-word angst.)
Classification: VAR

Classification: Vignette, Angst
~~by Joann Humby
Hartwell
Rating: PG
Summary: A third perspective on the events of "Bad Blood". (I read this one and wondered to myself why it hadn't been done before. This one is funny. It also has a soft spot for me, since Bad Blood was the first episode I ever watched. The Thanksgiving before the 1st movie, my Dad was channel surfing, happened across an X-Files marathon day, and said, "you watch this, don't you Bonnie?" I told him I had never even heard of it before, but it looked good. I ended up watching the rest of the marathon, and was hooked....Those funny random moments that start things off:)
Classification: V,UST
~~by David Hearne

Summary: Mulder is certain that the Hoover Building is haunted and Scully doesn't believe (Scully doesn't believe...what else is new? Trust me, this is definitely new, for me at least)

Rating: PG
Summary: Sometimes it takes extreme situations to clarify feelings. After a stakeout turns horribly violent, Scully and Mulder take a moment of downtime to confront the feelings they think they have for each other. (It has an interesting plot. It's kinda a mini-casefile...this might be stereotyping, but you can just tell that it was written by a guy.)
Classification: R,V,A

Classification: V,A
~~by Marguerite
Not a Hallmark Kind of Guy
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Post episode. What happened after the end of "The Ghosts Who Stole Christmas", or whatever the hell the title actually was. (This is really good. Just read it. I will say though, through the whole thing, I was thinking to myself 'I don't know how this could have an ending that I would like. Either it would end in a huggy barfy way which would be too schmoopy (considering the narrator) or it could end in a fight, which would be to cliched (again, considering the narrator:) But I think that the ending is a good middle ground between the 2. Like I said, just read it.)

Patches of Blue
Rating: PG-13
Summary: I am alone. Everything is white and sterile around me. So many tests. Mulder will be looking for me. But do I want him to find me? (I don't know about this one. It's a little bit...over dramatic...but it is for a reason...)

Romantic I & II
Rating: NC-17
Summary: After her cancer goes into remission, Scully begins to question the direction of her life. Mulder confronts his feelings as she turns to another man. The partners conduct a 'romantic' experiment and realize that the answer to Scully's restlessness may not be farther than her best friend. (This is interesting to me for an unrelated reason: can you read and like a story, even if the delivery method is flawed? In other words, really good story, but the author apparently never took an english class in her life. It seems to be that my answer to that question is yes, since here it is...but it's a grudging yes. It is also my only 'other' story.)

Sleeping Together
Rating: PG
Summary: Just another ordinary, run-of-the-mill night in the lives of Mulder and Scully. (It stays in character, and is a really good look at their relationship, without being, necessarily, an MSR story)

Smoking & The Patch
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Oh, the trials and tribulations of jealousy and frustration. (Scully goes on a bad date, Mulder starts smoking and is angsty, SMUUUUUT! Plot? I call that one damn good plot. Not that I'm pro-smoking. Quite the opposite actually:)

Taming The Unicorn
What if...Scully was a virgin?
The Unicorn, Tamed
What if...Mulder was a virgin?
Rating:NC17 for very strong Sexual Content and language
Summary: (This is a 2 parter that isn't really a 2 parter, they're both different stories, but they both kinda flow so I suggest reading them both. They're REALLY long, and REALLY graphic, BUT they have to be one of the very best fan fiction I've ever read--Scully's especially. They're SO good I couldn't stop until I was finished with them!! *Recount!*)

Unintended Consequences
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Just when you think you know how you'd react to a horrific event, life steps up to surprise you. Scully and Mulder deal with the aftermath of the Pfaster shooting. (*Sigh* I wanted to write a Post-Orison fic...and then I read this. It is everything that I wanted mine to be. Life isn't fair:) It has the early-to-mid years SelfCentered!Mulder, that I don't like...but it fits in this. Yep, it fits good.)

Walk
Rating: NC-17
Summary: (A-hem;) Okay. I got this on a mailing list. I got 2 paragraphs into it and hit delete. I guess I should say before I get any further that this is an alternate story. What if there was no bee? So being a shipper, I went into this very eagerly. Well, this is no shipper fic. This is not a happy fic either. So why is it here??? I don't know;)

Summary: It's set in the future after Mulder has disappeared and a fearful Scully gets in contact with him. It's full of serious Scully angst and some mild but bittersweet MSR. Standing Scared
Rating: PG
Summary: On the outside looking in at a world made just for two, a brave man learns to fear those whom he wishes to protect. (I'm not the biggest Skinner fan...wait, don't leave!...but this was good good good-good cubed:) It's one of those 'Everyone knows Mulder and Scully love each other except Mulder and Scully' stories. But it's so much better. If you want to know what a good Skinner voice is like-'cause you sure as hell won't find it here:)-read this. It's mentally impossible for me to write a good Skinner)

There's one I couldn't find that I would love to read again: Mulder is alone at Christmas, goes to a bar, and sees an old wrinkly dude smoking and drinking there alone. They talk, and Mulder realizes that he doesn't want to end up like that, so he goes and finds Scully, who had given him an invitation that he turned down...Maybe it was in Wrinkle Dude's pov.....Ringing any bells? E-mail me, please.
I also would love to find one that is Great Gatsby inspired, because there is so much of Mulder in him...or vice versa. Mulder's always believed in the green light. He will always beat on, boat against the current. (In other words, I can picture it in my head, but I'm too lazy to write it myself ;)...but would Daisy Buchanan be Scully, or Samantha? A loaded question indeed.)
I would love it if you would e-mail me a story of your own, or even one you found that's good. Also, if you would like me to link to your website, and the link has changed, e-mail me @ [email protected]
